Born in Galveston, Texas, Dr. Carol Fox Henrichs spent her formative years near the local beaches, pastures and bayous—experiences which continue to fuel her desire to learn about and explore the natural world.
As a nature photographer and photo artist, she uses her camera and the digital darkroom to create works which express her artistic vision. “I believe the purpose of art is to evoke feeling or emotion. Through my art, I attempt to express my feelings for the places I visit and the wonders of nature I encounter,” says Henrichs.
After a career of supporting the use of technology in education, Carol retired from Texas A&M University to pursue her encore career in photography. She states, “My experience and education in computers and technology allows me to take full advantage of the digital darkroom. Digital photography allows my creative side to draw from my technical side to express my vision through my art.”
Dr. Henrichs’ photography career provided opportunities for her to be a featured speaker for Carnival Cruise Lines, the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo Wildlife Expo, as well as for other organizations. She actively participates in shows and exhibition across the US and her work has won numerous awards. Carol’s website provides a means for her to continue to teach. It contains numerous tips, reviews, tutorials and even some adventure stories.
