Judi Simon is a professional illustrator, graphic designer and medical artist who specializes in
painting ultra representational and realistic still lifes in a variety of mediums that include oil on
canvas and panels, watercolor and porcelain painting on ultra thin porcelain tiles. Her
technique for any medium is created by painting thin translucent layers of color that allow the
under color to enhance the color on top. This is specifically true when painting on porcelain
tiles where each layer is fired in a kiln and then another color is applied over the top to build
up a very unique final color layer. This multiple layering creates a rich depth of color unlike
any other medium.
