Artist Statement

My paintings are acrylic on canvas which I start in a very loose style and tighten to desired realism. I enjoy painting favorite places and places I would like to be. The purport of my work is to remind the viewer of the beauty of nature with which we are all blessed. I live near Crawford. Texas (neighbor to George Bush where I spend most of my time as art instructor and artist.”

Background & Bio

LaJuana has studied art in college and with many notable artists. She has been included in Who’s Who in American Women and Notable personalities of America. She is included in the invitational Texas Masters Fine Art Show held annually at the YO Ranch Hotel in Kerrville, Texas. LaJuana is a member of PACT (Professional Artists of Central Texas) and Texas Masters of Fine Art. Her work has represented the state of Texas in two issues of The Daughters of the American Revolution national publication. The ad for 2002 was awarded the honor of “Best DR ad in the nation.” She was invited by the international biographical Centre in Cambridge, England to attend the International Congress of Art and Communication and to show her works in the Congress Gallery in Amsterdam, Holland. LaJuana is one of 13 artists selected to have their work published on the 2009 Waco Art Center Calendar. Her works are owned by individual and corporate collectors throughout the world, including Samsung, Ernst and Young, MBNA Bank of Dallas, Countrywide Mortgage, Providence Hospital of Waco, and Round Rock Hospital.
