CADE KEGERREIS

Artist Statement

Kegerreis’ practice is rooted in observation but driven by emotion—allowing forms to soften, dissolve, or emerge through layered color and restrained detail. Flowers, landscapes, figures, and symbolic elements recur throughout his work, not as literal subjects but as vessels for reflection and impermanence. Subtle shifts in light and color play a central role, inviting viewers to slow down and sit with a sense of stillness or transition.

Background & Bio

Cade Kegerreis is a Waco, Texas-based visual artist whose work explores themes of time, memory, and quiet transformation. Working primarily in oil, he creates atmospheric paintings that balance realism with abstraction, often drawing from cinematic light, natural forms, and fleeting moments that feel both intimate and expansive.

In addition to studio work, Kegerreis is an active muralist and designer, creating large-scale public artworks and site-specific commissions for museums, universities and businesses throughout Texas and beyond. These projects inform his studio practice, sharpening his sensitivity to scale, composition, and the relationship between artwork and environment.

Cade has exhibited in multiple solo and group shows and continues to develop bodies of work that blur the line between memory and observation—seeking moments that feel suspended in time, just before they fade.
