BRENT MAXWELL

Artist Statement

“Art and the making of art are both vehicles of learning. Recently my paintings are about the conception of images from harsh landscapes and plants and the revelation of the beauty to be found there. They are about the transfer of information from the eye to the canvas using composition and color. And it’s about the application of paint. Between the capture, imagination and the end result, the artist learns and hopefully communicates to the viewer.”
